The 6th day started with the Eucharist with the generalate community. The liturgical group led the session with a special invitation to the Spirit for guidance throughout the day.
Sr. Ana Elidia followed with a quick review of the week as lived and shared and invited the group to keep the spirit of prayer and silence in all the experiences.
Andrew Dixon III, participant from the US Province, a graphics artist with ten years of experience, expertly engaged the seminar to explore the marvels of PRINT, DIGITAL, VISUAL and GRAPHIC ART. Combining theory and practice, he stimulated the group with a simple dynamic of drawing a banana on a small strip of paper, then to draw one’s passion on the other side of the sheet. Having stimulated the group, he stressed that art is creative and expressive. “There is no such a thing as ugly or bad art…let your inside passion come through,” he quipped.
He moved on to the history of graphic design, the industrial revolution in the area of communication the various aspects of visual arts and how graphics enhance communication. He offered valuable and practical tips on designing Province bulletins, producing videos, and the importance of using colors to transmit emotions. He shared some soft wares for effective video production and images. He closed the session with an offer to help the group for the duration of the seminar.
Andrew Dixon’s competence, simplicity, commitment, passion for the mission that US Province does were powerful message that got everyone’s ears and hearts.
Sr Mikaelin Bupu then oriented the group to the afternoon recollection—“Find time to rest, to review Week 1 and listen to new insights, challenges and opportunities that are emerging…and be with THE COMMUNICATOR—JESUS, the WORD of GOD.”
